INV Metals Announces 2015 Results
TORONTO, ON – MARCH 1, 2016 – INV Metals Inc. (“INV Metals” or the “Company”) (TSX:INV) announces that it recorded a total loss from continuing operations of $4,584,869 or $0.07 per share for the year ended December 31, 2015, compared with a total loss from continuing operations of $9,709,087 or $0.16 per share for the corresponding period ended December 31, 2014. The Company’s cash balance as at December 31, 2015 was approximately $11.6 million, compared to $16.2 million at year end 2014. The decrease in the Company’s treasury was a result of corporate expenditures at Loma Larga. Working capital at the end of 2015 was $11.4 million compared to working capital of $16.9 million at December 31, 2014. The Company’s 2016 operating budget is estimated at $4.5 million. Please see INV Metals’ 2015 audited consolidated financial statements and MD&A filed on SEDAR and on the Company’s web site.
The Company recently announced it is proceeding with an update of its 2015 preliminary feasibility study (“PFS”) on its 100% owned Loma Larga project in Ecuador (“Loma Larga” or “Project”) to incorporate increased production levels of 2,500 tonnes per day, and the laws and regulations applicable to the large-scale mining category. Positive changes and clarifications in the laws governing mining have occurred since the results of our PFS based on the medium-scale mining category were released in February 2015. The PFS will include new resource estimates; updated estimations of revenue, capital and operating costs; mine and reclamation plans; and prepare the associated engineering and economic studies to evaluate the feasibility and economics of the Project within the large-scale framework. Management believes the evaluation of Loma Larga at an increased optimal production rate may produce significantly increased returns dependent on gold and metal price assumptions.
There are no guarantees that the Company will enter into an acceptable exploitation agreement (“EA”) to operate as a large-scale mining project even if the updated PFS demonstrates positive economics.
